TOPIC:The Psychology of Good People. While it may sound surprising, the path to becoming a good person means letting go of trying to be a good person. Indeed, many of us work so hard to protect our good person identity that it interferes with our ability to learn from our mistakes to actually become better people. At this event, New York University social psychologist and TED Speaker, Dr. Dolly Chugh, will illuminate how to achieve a higher standard of being a “goodish person” who still makes mistakes but learns to be better and do better. With probing questions posed by author and workplace expert Debbie Epstein Henry, Dolly will share findings of her acclaimed book, The Person You Mean to Be: How Good People Fight Bias. Dolly will weave together stories and science to provide an entertaining and thought-provoking discussion. She will inform on unconscious and systemic bias and a sometimes unusual path towards building a more inclusive community. Dolly will leave us inspired with powerful messages and clear takeaways to enable us to grow to become a better person — where it matters most.
